Undocumented 19 Year Old Immigrant Kills St. Paul Man while Driving Drunk

Just last week, Minnesota Democrat Representatives voted to allow undocumented immigrants to obtain driver's licenses.

On Apr 3, Jose O. Vasquez Guillen, age 19, was placed in jail for vehicular homicide based on signs of intoxication. Vasquez Guillen later admitted to “consuming multiple alcoholic beverages before driving.” Witnesses also reported that Vasquez Guillen was traveling at a speed significantly over the speed limit before the crash occurred.

The crash killed Mark J. O’Gara, 52, of St. Paul, and occurred just south of the St. Paul Downtown Airport near Concord and Page streets.

Vasquez Guillen was reported to have a Blood Alcohol Content of .149, well above the legal limit for anyover over the age of 21. State officials also reported to have never had a Minnesota driver’s license or state identification card.

After the crash, Vasquez Guillen was transferred from Ramsey County jail into the custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). ICE spokesman Shawn Neudauer said that

Vasquez-Guillen is a citizen of El Salvador who entered the country illegally at age 15 in January 2016. 7 Months later, a federal judge ordered him deported after he failed to appear in court for his immigration hearing.

Just last week, Minnesota Democrat Representatives voted to allow undocumeneted immigrants to obtain driver’s licenses and earlier this month, a Minneapolis undocumented immigrant was arrested for having 64 lbs of meth in his apartment.
