Tyler Kistner, Marine Veteran, and Republican Congressional candidate has challenged his Democrat opponent Angie Craig to disavow defunding the police.

Kistner, who’s running for MN’s 2nd Congressional District, has called for Representative Craig to disavow the Democrat push for police defunding. Minneapolis City Council Democrats say they have a veto-proof majority that is ready to defund Minneapolis Police Department. Many Democrats, such as Ilhan Omar, have endorsed the change. “The Minneapolis Police Department is rotten to the root…” said Omar according to the New York Post.

Republican Congressional Candidate Tyler Kistner has come out strong against defund the police and has challenged his opponent Angie Craig to make her position known.

“In response, I am calling on Angie Craig to denounce these dangerous ideas, straight out of the far-left playbook. Angie Craig has previously failed to condemn violence and riots in downtown Minneapolis and St. Paul and refuses to call out her own party’s failures in the biggest crisis our state has ever faced,” said Kistner.

“I’ll say it again, the men and women who serve us in our local police departments are putting their lives on the line every day. They deserve our support, not to become the target of extreme ideas and ridicule. If Angie does not support our local law enforcement and our local communities, how can we expect her to continue to lead the 2nd Congressional District?” said Kistner.

Rep. Craig has not released any public statements about defunding the police or the pushes to do so.
