Tyler Kistner: Angie Craig Claims To Be Moderate But Votes 97% With Pelosi

Craig says that District Two needs a bipartisan canidate, even as she votes with Nancy Pelosi 97% of the time. Kistner says it's time for a change.

Republican US Congressional canidate Tyler Kistner called out his Democrat opponent, Congresswoman Angie Craig, for allegedly lying to Minnesotans about her voting record.

Craig presently represents Minnesota’s 2nd Congressional District. In 2016, her constituency went red for President Donald Trump and leans slightly right in general according to the Cook Partisan Voting Index. Likely due to her district’s Republican bent, Craig often bills herself as a bipartisan representative and swing voter in Congress. However, Kistner pointed out in a recent press release that the way Craig markets herself is far from the way she actually behaves in Washington.

“Angie Craig is continuing to mislead the voters of Minnesota’s 2nd Congressional District about her record. She claims to be bipartisan, but the reality is she votes 97% of the time with Nancy Pelosi and 90% with Ilhan Omar,” Kistner said, via the release.
The National Republican Congressional Committee’s voting tracker reveals that Craig is hardly a bipartisan voter.
Craig has also earned a 100% approval rating by the Planned Parenthood Action Fund, per GovTrack.
Craig won a narrow victory over former Representative Jason Lewis in 2016 after criticizing the Republican for being too loyal to his party. On the campaign trail, she said that anybody who votes with their party over 90% of the time is unfit to govern in District Two. Kistner has not forgotten this claim.
“In her own words Angie said if you vote more than 90% of the time with your own party, you aren’t the right candidate for this district. Well I agree with you Angie, you are wrong for this district. When I get to Congress, I will be a true servant leader who is not beholden to any special interests. We need more servant leaders in Congress” remarks Kistner.
Kistner is a special forces veteran and self-described “outsider” conservative who has not previously held office, but has earned the GOP endorsement.
