Trump Appears To Support Protest Against Minnesota’s Stay At Home Order

A protest of Walz's COVID-19 response called "Liberate Minnesota" is set to occur today from noon to 3PM

President Donald Trump appears to have thrown his support behind a protest against Minnesota Governor Tim Walz’s stay at home orders.

A protest of Walz’s COVID-19 response called “Liberate Minnesota” is set to occur from noon to 3 PM on Friday outside the governor’s mansion. On the morning of the protest, the president appeared to express his support of the effort, posting a tweet that reads “LIBERATE MINNESOTA!”

Protest organizers characterize Walz’s shutdowns of public life and the economy as a “full blown attack by a radical anti-American Governor.”

“Now is the time to demand Governor Walz and our state legislators end this lock down! Thousands of lives are being destroyed right now,” the organizers say.

The President has also expressed related concerns for the economy, and has released a 3 phase plan for economic revitalization that relies heavily on governors to make data-driven decisions.

Citizens of Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, North Carolina and Utah have also organized protests against their states’ COVID-19 response policies. Trump appeared to tweet his support for these efforts in Michigan.

He also threw support behind advocates of the Second Amendment in Virginia, who have been locked in a bitter political conflict over gun rights with their governor for months.

Countless conservative political pundits chimed in on Trump’s apparent support for the protest against stay at home policies. One of these voices is from former US Congressman from Minnesota and current Senate Candidate Jason Lewis.
