President Donald Trump’s reelection campaign said Wednesday that it plans to request a recount in the Wisconsin presidential race.

“Despite ridiculous public polling used as a voter suppression tactic, Wisconsin has been a razor thin race as we always knew that it would be,” Trump campaign manager Bill Stepien said in a statement.

“There have been reports of irregularities in several Wisconsin counties which raise serious doubts about the validity of the results. The President is well within the threshold to request a recount and we will immediately do so,” he added.

With 95% of precincts reporting, former Vice President Joe Biden leads Trump by less than a percentage point — 49.6% to 49%. The two are separated by a margin of 20,517 votes.

Trump and Biden are also deadlocked in the states of Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Georgia. The Trump campaign thinks it could pick up a win in Arizona, despite the race being called for Biden.
