ST. CLOUD, MN – The Crossroads Mall in St. Cloud is on lockdown tonight after it was reported that a man inside the mall had a gun.  The incident happened around 6:20 p.m. This is the same mall where a knife-wielding man stabbed 10 people on the night of September 17, 2016.

St. Cloud police Sgt. Jason Burke told the Minneapolis Star Tribune that the mall is on lockdown after initial reports of a male and female involved in an argument near the food court.  Two other males, unknown to the male and female, approached them and one of the men lifted the front of his shirt and showed the couple a gun in his waistband.  No threats were made, no injuries were reported and the gun was not pointed at the couple.

According to a news release from the St. Cloud Police, Sgt. Burke said that “both males were last seen entering the food court in the mall.  As a precautionary measure, and for the safety of mall patrons, officers are searching the mall for both males.”

On Twitter, posters said that alarms went off in the mall and that all employees and shoppers were told to leave.  Dozens of squad cars and police vehicles were spread throughout the parking area while police were guarding all the exits and entrances of the mall.

CrimeWatchMpls reported on Twitter that the suspect was described as a white male, wearing a baseball cap, khaki tie and button-up shirt and was accompanied by another white male:

On September 17, The Crossroads Mall was the site of a bloody attack by a man dressed in a security guard outfit.  Dahir Adnan attacked 10 people and made references to Allah before being shot and killed by Jason Falconer, an off-duty police officer, about an hour after the attacks began.  All of the victims who were stabbed survived the attack.
