Rep. Omar Traveled With Anti-United States Group that Supports Socialism and Has Anti-Semitic Board Members

Rep. Omar has ties to the anti-United States group Witness for Peace Delegation. This organization supports socialist regimes and plans visits to South American countries to “expose” US effects on their human rights by US opposition to socialism.

In recent tweets, Rep. Omar has previously advocated for the protection of socialist Venezuela and has a long history of anti-semitism. Now, it has been discovered she has a part of continued support for socialist countries and regimes.

In November of 2017, now Representative Ilhan Omar (D- MN), traveled to Honduras with the Witness for Peace Delegation, a group that was formed in the 1980s to oppose American intervention at stopping the spread of communism in South America. After this trip, Rep. Omar publicly began to oppose military aid to Honduras and called for their funding to be suspended.

The leaders of this organization that Rep. Omar has worked with have continually supported the socialist regimes in Venezuela and Cuba. They also urge that the United States return the “illegally occupied” Guantanamo Naval Base back to Cuba.

Board members of the Witness for Peace Delegation share Rep. Omar’s anti-semitic rhetoric. One board member, Paul Magno, has been a long time activist for Mubarak Awad who has blatantly called for “eradication of Israel as a Jewish state.”

Rep. Omar’s connections to an anti-semitic and anti-US group that supports socialism spark many questions surrounding her ability to accurately and unbiasedly serve on the House Foreign Affairs Committee.
