Minnesota State Fair Attempts to Shut Down Pro-Trump Flag Display, Threatens MNGOP

The Minnesota State Fair Organization has moved to shut down Trump supporters who have displayed pro-trump flags on the SkyGlider at the Minnesota State Fair.

Trump supporters across Minnesota have been seen showing pride at the Minnesota State Fair by displaying Trump flags as they ride the SkyGlider.

Now, the Minnesota State Fair Organization has gotten involved to shut down the grassroots operation. Minnesota political activist, Sheri Auclair, said she and the other trump supporting fairgoers were were greeted by police officers on Aug. 30th and told they would be arrested if they continued to display their flags.

The police jumped on the SkyGlider with the group of supporters to ensure they stopped displaying their Trump 2020, thin blue line, and betsy ross flags. This did not stop the fairgoers from displaying their pride and subsequently, no arrests were made.

“I encourage everyone who visits the State Fair to continue to show your support for our POTUS and fly your flag with PRIDE on the SkyRider. We will not be silenced,” Auclair said in a Facebook post.

The Minnesota State Fair Organization has since tied these events to the Minnesota GOP (MNGOP) by sending them a cease and desist order. MNGOP responded by distancing themselves from the Pro-Trump activists.

“While we appreciate the enthusiasm of Republicans across the state, The Republican Party of Minnesota had no knowledge of the flag/banner drop, does not condone the activity, nor was our organization involved in any way, shape, or form with that effort,” the MNGOP said in an email

The MNGOP also stated that they, along with other conservative groups, are at risk for losing their space at the Minnesota State Fair, despite having zero involvement in the flag display that has taken place on the SkyGlider over the course of the Minnesota State Fair.
