Protect Kids Rally

Earlier this year, Democrats—voted to force every Minnesota public and charter school to teach “Comprehensive Sex Education,” or CSE, a curriculum pushed by Planned Parenthood and other far-left groups.

Democrats said the legislation focused on teaching “harassment” and “consent.” But the curriculum includes pornographic images and unscientific ideas about gender, and it trivializes or even encourages high-risk and abusive sexual behavior.

A book that is part of the CSE program and is meant for 10 year-olds (4th graders), called “It’s Perfectly Normal,” is so obscene that it can’t be shown on Facebook or the nightly news, even when censored.

“It’s Perfectly Normal” offers a glimpse into the CSE curriculum. In the book, so-called freedom is placed over actual health. For example, the book seems to encourage anal sex, and conflates this act with other types of sexual activity that carry a far-lower risk of injury and sexually transmitted infection.

And generally, casual sex of all types is encouraged by the CSE program, which promotes abortion and self-pleasure above any sort of personal responsibility.

The proponents of the curriculum, say concerned activists and parents, view children as “sexual” from birth. This twisted view happens to go all the way back to mad-scientist Alfred Kinsey—a hero on the left—who went so far as to study pedophiles’ abuse of children. “Its your own choice when you want to lose your virginity,” the program tells 10 year olds.

Conveniently for Planned Parenthood, the legislation would allow schools to bring in outside “community organizations” into the classroom. And Planned Parenthood brags that it is the “largest provider of comprehensive sex education in Minnesota.”

Sadly, the United Nations is pushing this curriculum in the developed world too.

The fight in St. Paul

During House debate, Representative Eric Lucero (R) gave a passionate speech, decrying CSE’s ties to the abortion industry:

“I just can’t believe this is even up for debate. This is perversion for our young people. Here it is on page 71. Abortion. Well that makes sense. You got Planned Parenthood who’s in the business of abortion, who makes money off abortion. They have a vested interest in promoting abortion to the ends of the earth so they can increase their profit. So of course they’re going to endorse a book that’s promoting abortion,” said Lucero.

Planned Parenthood references the above-mentioned book, “It’s Perfectly Normal,” as their model curriculum for sex ed, said Lucero.

Democrats, including Representative James Davnie, tried to say that the curriculum couldn’t possibly be from Planned Parenthood because it makes “no mention of Planned Parenthood.”

Representative Peggy Scott (R) quickly pointed out to the disingenuous Davnie that the curriculum in the Democrats’ bill “was written in part at least by Planned Parenthood.” Planned Parenthood’s desired language, per their website, is “verbatim of what’s in this bill,” said Scott.

“Let there be no question where this curriculum came from… If you look at [Planned Parenthood’s] language it lines up exactly … with what’s proposed,” she continued.
