Minnesota group backed by Biden staff paid bail for alleged murderers, convicted sex offender

The group also paid bail for Donavan Boone, who was charged with breaking into his ex-girlfriend’s house and choking her.

A Minnesota nonprofit that received financial support from Joe Biden’s campaign staff used its surge of donations to bail out violent criminals and a sex offender.

According to an investigation from Fox 9, the Minnesota Freedom Fund received $35 million in donations in the weeks following George Floyd’s death, including donations from 13 Biden campaign staffers.

The nonprofit’s mission is to pay “criminal bail and immigration bonds for those who cannot otherwise afford to” and abolish cash bail in Minnesota. The influx of donations was “intended to help protesters who were jailed during the demonstrations and riots in May,” Fox 9 said.

The report continues:

Among those bailed out by the Minnesota Freedom Fund (MFF) is a suspect who shot at police, a woman accused of killing a friend, and a twice convicted sex offender, according to court records reviewed by the FOX 9 Investigators.

According to attempted murder charges, Jaleel Stallings shot at members of a SWAT Team during the riots in May. Police recovered a modified pistol that looks like an AK-47. MFF paid $75,000 in cash to get Stallings out of jail.

Darnika Floyd is charged with second degree murder, for stabbing a friend to death. MFF paid $100,000 cash for her release.

Christopher Boswell, a twice convicted rapist, is currently charged with kidnapping, assault, and sexual assault in two separate cases. MFF paid $350,000 in cash for his release.

The group also paid bail for Donavan Boone, who was charged with breaking into his ex-girlfriend’s house and choking her. Of the 184 people bailed out by the group in recent months, about “a dozen” were involved in the riots.

“As vice president, Joe Biden oversaw cuts to police funding and now as a candidate he says he wants to redirect funding away from police,” Tim Murtaugh, communications director for President Donald Trump’s reelection campaign, said in a statement.

“His staff mocked police as worse than ‘pigs,’ called for defunding the police, and now we know his campaign helped bail out violent criminals, rapists, and would-be cop killers,” he continued. “Biden is incapable of bringing our country together because he has been taken over by the radical left. He is actively putting Americans’ lives at risk by making our streets more dangerous, cops’ jobs more difficult, and families less safe.”
