After a reported crowd of over 20,000 peaceful supporters of President Donald Trump gathered to hear from the President a group of violent protesters descended to assault and harass Trump supporters and police.

The left-wing protesters led by ANTIFA punched Trump supporters and racially attacked African American police officers.

On a Livestream of the violent protest by Star Tribune reporter Andy Mannix, a sitting Democrat State Representative Aisha Gomez (DFL-Minneapolis) was spotted participating.

Due to the violence by the masked leftwing protesters Minneapolis Police was occasionally forced to deploy chemical irritants to subdue and disperse people committing assaults.

Rep. Aisha Gomez bragged on twitter that she was able to use her position as a state rep to instruct the Mayor of Minneapolis Jacob Frey to have the police stand down.

The protesters who joined Rep. Gomez at the protest held signs calling for violence against police officers.

So far no Minnesota Democrat leader condemned the behavior or Rep. Gomez or the violent protesters.

Republican Rep. Nick Zerwas (E- Elk River) issues a statement to have the Speaker Melissa Hortman (DFL-Brooklyn Park) condemn the violent protests and participation by a member of her caucus.

“Thousands of Minnesotans, protesters and rallygoers alike, gathered peacefully in downtown Minneapolis yesterday to exercise their first amendment rights. Our law enforcement officials did an incredible job ensuring the safety of those on both sides. However, a group of protesters engaged in illegal behavior after the President’s speech, assaulting rallygoers, hurling bottles at the police, and throwing traffic cones at cars. Marching among them was a sitting legislator. Governor Walz and Speaker Hortman should be crystal clear: this type of behavior is unacceptable, and elected officials have no excuse for joining those who were at the center of the chaos last night in downtown Minneapolis.”
