State Rep. Ilhan Omar will be the keynote speaker at an anti-Israel fundraiser focused on providing monetary support for Palestinians on the Gaza Strip.

The fundraiser is hosted by Dear Gaza, a Minneapolis-based organization that coordinates an “inspiring artist showcase” to raise money “in solidarity with the Gaza Strip.”

Omar will speak at the Dear Gaza dinner on September 22 in Minneapolis. The dinner is focused on raising funds for “urgent medical care” for Palestinians victims of “Israeli oppression.”

In addition to the dinner, the organization is set to host the fourth annual “Dear Gaza Block Party” in Minneapolis the following weekend. According to the event description, the “family friendly event host spoken word poetry, dance, interactive art making, food, live music, and more from conscious artists in solidarity with the Gaza strip.”

Last year, Dear Gaza raised $30,000 for Palestinian causes. American Near East Refugee Aid (ANERA) added to the donation, providing $1.3 million in medical supplies to Palestinians on the Gaza Strip. ANERA blames Israel’s blockade of the Gaza Strip for the poverty in the region.

Omar has not shied away from her anti-Israel views. Earlier this year, Alpha News columnist John Gilmore uncovered a 2012 tweet from Omar in which she declared Israel had “hypnotized” the world and prayed Alla would help the world see the “evil doings of Israel.”

Omar responded to Gilmore on Twitter, calling him a “hateful, sad man” and continued her attack on the “Israeli apartheid regime.” In another reply, Omar mocked those who interpreted her tweets as anti-Semitic.

Omar also recently took to Twitter to criticize Ivanka Trump during the opening of the U.S. embassy in Jerusalem, slamming the president’s daughter for welcoming the opening of the embassy while “blood spills on the streets beneath her.”
