Last week we discussed the oncoming train wreck the Democrats are facing and reasons why (in spite of the media’s best efforts) Donald Trump is on his way to a 45 state landslide. This week we will offer additional evidence.
My central thesis is that the national Democrats, especially the growing herd running for President, are painfully out of touch with middle America. That herd is quickly turning into a stampede of small, furry creatures. Charging ever leftward and picking up speed. Much like the proverbial lemmings, the herd is racing toward the cliff. Tragedy awaits them. For lemmings, this bizarre behavior occurs every three or four years. For the Democrats, the cycle is a bit longer. All evidence suggests that the special year has arrived.
Now that the Russian ruse has gone flat, just look at the issues they are advancing. Compare them to national polling at Pollingreport.com. Click on National Priorities and check the latest Gallop poll. What you will see is the vast disconnect between what average Americans see as major concerns and what the herd of lemmings is chirping about. The differences are stunning.
Consistently, Americans put the economy at the top of their priority list. With the economy roaring and employment setting records, the Democrats don’t mention that. They ignore it, lest they give credit to the Donald. About the only thing that some have to say is that they would like us to explore the Venezuelaneconomic model of Socialism.
How does that play in Peoria?
Education and healthcare are usually high on the lists of American priorities. The Dems do talk about them. But, their proposals don’t align with what most folks really want. More federal money and greaterbureaucratic control are not necessarily what Americans are asking for. Middle American parents know that those prescriptions don’t work. They recognize that we have been spending more while getting poorer results. That view is mirrored when it comes to healthcare. We have grown wary of the federalized education and healthcare. Yet, this is precisely what the Left proposes.
Democrats continue to browbeat us about global warming/climate change. They have convinced themselves that Americans are as passionate as they are. Normal Americans are not. They do not believe that the world will end in twelve years if we don’t submit to their overbearing plans. We see that the Maldives are still above sea level. Spring Breakers are still finding adequate beach space for their cavorting. They have all signed on to the Green New Deal, without regard to the total impracticality or stratospheric costs. They jet from one campaign stop to the next telling us that we should prepare for a future without planes or cows. Global warming is way downon normal Americans’ list of priorities according to Gallup. In fairness, the Green New Deal had not been introduced when that poll was taken. So, it may have actually dropped precipitously.
Let’s review other agenda items from our friends on the Left. They want to abolish the electoral college andlower the voting age to 16. They want to stack the courts, presumably with activists who would ignore the Constitution and the tenants embodied in the Declaration of Independence.
Oh, but it gets better.
They have said that we have no right to defend our borders, while illegals (newcomers) should have the right to welfare and social security benefits and of course, the right to vote. Ignoring the disaster that was ObamaCare, they are doubling down with Medicare for All; pretending that this time they will get it right and we will somehow get free healthcare. As long as they are handing out free money, why shouldn’t they jumponto the reparations bandwagon?
They grovel and beg forgiveness from one group of victims after the next. Apologizing for being too white, too old or not Native American enough. They seem ashamed to admit that they aren’t gay, lesbian or any of the other alphabet groups. They cannot even be allowed to call Vice President Pence a “decent” guy.They loudly pledge allegiance to the unlimited right to butcher the unborn.
The Dems believe that this is the leadership middle America is yearning for. So, they charge onward.
Perhaps only the cliff can improve the gene pool of our adversaries. We cannot get them to change course. We can only stay out of their way.
