National Security Consultant says Ellison has Explaining to do

Former Undercover Operative says Keith Ellison spoke at event hosted by organization linked to Muslim Brotherhood

National Security Consultant Chris Gaubatz testified before Congress saying two House members, including Minnesota Representative Keith Ellison, have participated in events hosted by organizations with ties to The Muslim Brotherhood by the US Department of Justice in a terrorist financing case.  In a phone interview with Alpha News Gaubatz says that the Muslim Brotherhood is on-par with the more well-known terrorist groups.

During the hearing Gaubatz explained that while he was working undercover inside the Council on American Islamic Relations or CAIR, he attended an event hosted by the Islamic Society of North America or ISNA in 2008.

Gaubatz says Representative Ellison spoke at that event. Both CAIR and ISNA were named In the 2007 Holy Land Foundation terrorist financing case by the United States Department of Justice as unindicted co-conspirators and one of a number of entities connected to the US Muslim Brotherhood. The organizations fought this claim, and while the US Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit held that the government should not have listed CAIR and ISNA as unindicted co-conspirators, they say the government has “produced ample evidence” to establish the associations of CAIR and ISNA, “with the Islamic Association for Palestine, and with Hamas”

Gaubutz tells Alpha News that while working undercover he saw Ellison at several CAIR and ISNA events, saying the facts speak for themselves.

In A Huffington Post article, one of Ellison’s aids confirmed his attendance of the 2008 ISNA convention. Gaubatz believes Ellison needs to explain to the people of Minneapolis why he is involved with such controversial organizations.

At the hearing Senator Amy Klobuchar spoke out against the claims Gaubatz made:

“I’ve heard that Congressman Ellison’s name was raised – he is my congressman.  He is man of great patriotism.  He is a man that has paired up with Tom Emmer – one of the most conservative members over in the House who took Michele Bachmann’s seat – to start the Somali Caucus.  The two of them have done that together because we don’t see politics as getting in the way of not just the prosecution of criminals and evil, but in the defense of Americans and innocent Americans.”
Ellison did not respond to a request for comment from Alpha News.
