There has been an ongoing debate about how much Minnesota Taxpayers are spending for controversial art projects. This debate is set to continue as Democrat State Senator Bobby Joe Champion has authored a bill giving $250,000 in 2020 for painting a mural in Downtown Minneapolis

The bill does not designate the location of the mural or who would be painting the mural but the money will be given to a non profit called Minnesota Humanities Center. The mural would be honoring the life of Prince.

The Minnesota Humanities Center is famous for promoting culture of recent immigrant. Recently it developed the Somali Bilingual Book Project and Somali Youth Anthology.

So far no Republicans have signed on as authors.
