Dean Phillips Breaks His Promise And Votes For Pelosi

Republican-aligned Congressional Leadership Fund wasted no time and has released a 30-second ad highlighting the broken promise by Dean Phillips.

Congressman Dean Phillips

When Dean Phillips ran for Congress, he called for new leadership on both sides of the aisle.

In the 2018 election, Phillips attempted to run as a moderate and promised voters to be an independent voice. When pressed if he would support Nancy Pelosi by KSTP host Tom Hauser during a congressional debate Phillips replied: “No, it’s time for new leadership on both sides of the aisle.”

On his first day as a Congressman, that promise was broken.  While 15 Democratic members chose not to support longtime Democrat leader Nancy Pelosi, Dean Phillips cast his vote for Nancy Pelosi to once again become Speaker.

Phillips joins a large freshman class that includes self-described socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and fellow Minnesota freshman Ilhan Omar, who is promising to take the Democratic Party in the far left direction.
