Dashcam video captures chaos during downtown Minneapolis shooting

A number of violent Minneapolis incidents have been captured on video in just the last few weeks.

A dashcam video captured a chaotic scene in downtown Minneapolis early Sunday morning as shots rang out and injured two people.

A Minneapolis ride service provider was in downtown Minneapolis picking up a rider near the 100 block of North 4th Street around 2:30 a.m. when the shooting started.

In the driver’s dashcam video, the prospective rider can be seen approaching the vehicle. As she does one shot can be heard followed by a barrage of shots and people scattering in front of the vehicle.

The passenger appears to calmly get in the vehicle and asks the driver, “Are you my Uber?” as the driver starts backing away from the chaos.

The driver and passenger safely escaped the scene, but it was later reported that two men had been shot during the incident. Police said that both had injuries not considered to be life-threatening and that neither victim provided much information about what happened.

A number of violent Minneapolis incidents have been captured on video in just the last few weeks.

Late last month, a doorbell camera captured a violent assault and robbery by five males in north Minneapolis that left the victim with injuries and medical bills.

Earlier this month, a dashcam video captured the assault and robbery of a taxi driver in Minneapolis. And just last week, surveillance video captured a shootout at a downtown Minneapolis gas station.

There has been no word from officials on whether any suspects in any of these incidents have been identified or charged.
