A Minneapolis police officer was struck in the back of the head with a garbage can lid during Wednesday night’s rioting.

Multiple videos of the incident show the officer dropping to the ground after a large metal lid slams into his head, which was covered with a helmet. A crowd of protesters can be heard cheering as the officer falls to the ground.

“Sadly I’ve had an officer injured this evening. Fortunately, not significantly but serious nonetheless,” Minneapolis Police Chief Medaria Arradondo said during a press conference early Thursday morning.

The Minneapolis Police Department said a total of two officers were hospitalized Wednesday night with non life-threatening injuries, including the officer who was assaulted on camera.

Hennepin County Sheriff David Hutchinson said a total of 132 people were arrested Wednesday night by multiple agencies on various offenses.
