Commentary: Black Lives Matter inexplicably receives Nobel Peace Prize nomination

Black Lives Matter (BLM), a Marxist organization that foments chaos and is responsible for over two-dozen U.S. deaths, was nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize Friday by a Norwegian parliamentarian.

Socialist Petter Eide wanted to recognize the radical group for “bringing forward a new consciousness and awareness about racial justice.”

“To carry forward a movement of racial justice and to spread that to other countries is very, very important,” Eide rambled. “Awarding the peace prize to Black Lives Matter, as the strongest global force against racial injustice, will send a powerful message that peace is founded on equality, solidarity and human rights, and that all countries must respect those basic principles.”

Launched in 2013 following George Zimmerman’s acquittal in the death of Trayvon Martin, BLM events frequently devolve into fire-setting, statue-toppling, and attacks on everyday life. Most recently, their rioters brawled with New York City Police on Martin Luther King Day.

While there were protests since its founding, the Memorial Day death of George Floyd in Minneapolis set off the worst summer destruction in a generation across America. Some cities, especially in the Pacific Northwest, are still riddled with violent rioting in the name of “social justice” and against mythical “systemic racism.” BLM was the principal organizer of most demonstrations.

The trio of self-described Marxists who founded BLM were trained in communist ideology and political organizing by agitators from the Weather Underground domestic terror group. It remains unclear whether our obsequious media, useful idiot athletes and weak-kneed sports leagues — where jerseys and fields are emblazoned with BLM propaganda — know this sordid history.

Like their antagonistic twin Antifa, BLM has chapters across the country. There is zero separation between the organization and the riots, which destroy businesses, government property and tragically result in deaths. Apologists for BLM’s bigotry, however, refuse to acknowledge the violent tendencies of the movement, often referencing a semi-recent study that 93% of the protests are “peaceful.”

BLM probably won’t win the Peace prize — though recent confounding choices have been Kofi Annan, Yasser Arafat, Jimmy Carter, Al Gore and Barack Obama — but if so, I bet the $1 million in winnings will be accepted and, if we’re lucky, accompanied by a speech on capitalism’s evils. After all, Co-Founder Patrisse Cullors already cashed in by signing contracts with Hollywood.

The anti-capitalist cabal also takes money from every guilt-ridden celebrity and ignorant young person imaginable. BLM loves corporate money, as they intimidate feckless companies from Airbnb, Amazon and DoorDash, to Gatorade, Microsoft and Netflix into supporting their anarchy. The vicious billionaire George Soros pumped in $33 million in 2015 alone, and the Ford Foundation, along with left-wing, Minneapolis-based Borealis Philanthropy funneled millions to BLM causes. Needless to add, our once-proud universities support the movement and promote similar anti-American ideologies daily.

Perhaps these groups do not understand that BLM’s goals include:

  • Disbanding all police agencies and releasing all “political prisoners of color;”
  • Reparations for slavery;
  • Guaranteed income and free college for minority citizens;
  • Voting age lowered to 16;
  • “Disrupt(ing) the Western-prescribed nuclear family;”
  • Free health care, food, real estate, gender reassignment surgery and abortion;
  • Creating a “global liberation movement” that will “overturn U.S. imperialism and capitalism.”

Not one item on that list benefits society as a whole; in fact, most harm the communities they purport to help.

But since our spurious press has been co-opted, any criticism of BLM can get you fired. If you stand up to totalitarianism with truths, your well-paid employees will bully you out of your U.S. Senate seat.

Therefore, do not expect reporters to delve into BLM’s background, as I just did; instead CEOs will continue contributing money, likely in an attempt to protect their businesses from bogus charges of racism.

The Alinskyites trained Cullors and Co. well.

Update: On Monday, someone who actually deserves consideration for the Peace Prize was nominated.
