MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA  Hundreds of protesters marching against the election of Donald Trump shut down both directions of I-94 in Minneapolis on Thursday night.  Police were on the scene.

Live stream videos showed hundreds of mainly young people, chanting “Hey Hey Ho Ho Donald Trump Has Got to Go,” “Black Lives Matter,” and “Refugees are welcome here” as they marched from the West Bank of the University of Minnesota through the streets toward I-94.  MPRNews is reporting that police protected the protesters as they marched and blocked traffic from the freeway for the protesters.

After about 30 minutes, the protesters moved off the freeway and headed back toward the West Bank.

As Alpha News reported, there were at least two groups organizing protests this evening, Socialist Alternative Minnesota and Minnesota Immigrant Rights Action committee.

Protesters also spray painted “F— Trump” on the wall of the Minnesota Republican Party headquarters offices.

More protests are planned according to a Facebook event posted by the group Showing Up for Racial Justice – Minnesota.
