MN Congressman Accused of Ties to Muslim Brotherhood

Minnesota Congressman Keith Ellison (D) was accused during a Congressional Hearing on Tuesday of having ties to “Radical Islam.”

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz (R) oversaw the hearing titled The Debate on “Radical Islam” & Terrorism.

Chris Gaubatz, who works for a consulting firm called “Understanding the Threat” as a National Security Consultant made the accusation. He said, “I attended a convention in Columbus, Ohio, in 2008, organized by Muslim Brotherhood group ISNA (Islamic Society of North America) and both the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Justice: Federal Bureau of Prisons had recruitment and outreach booths. Congressman Keith Ellison and Andre Carson (D-IN), spoke at the Muslim Brotherhood event.”

Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D) who addressed the hearing later defended Ellison, “He is my congressman, a man of great patriotism, he paired up with one of the most conservative members in the house who took Michele Bachmann’s seat to start the Somali caucus, the two have done that together because we don’t see politics as getting in the way.”

Klobuchar is referring to Rep. Tom Emmer (R-Delano) who replaced Bachmann in 2014.
