Two letter carriers in north Minneapolis reported being shot at with BB guns within days of each other in the last week of July.
The first reported incident occurred on Thursday, July 25 near North 8th and Upton Avenues, and the most recent incident was reported on Monday near North 20th and James Avenues.
A north Minneapolis Crime Watch Facebook page which regularly posts about incidents aired across police scanners posted about Monday’s incident which occurred just after 3 p.m. An audio recording of the Monday incident was also posted online. Both posts indicated that a female letter carrier had been shot at while delivering mail in the neighborhood.
One carrier was struck in the Thursday incident but was not seriously injured, the other carrier in the Monday incident was not struck, according to a report. Police said they don’t know whether the incidents are connected, and no suspects have been identified.
