The daughter of Governor Walz joined climate activist to push the governor against the project. Things escalated when activists including the daughter of Democrat Congresswoman Ilhan Omar disrupted the inaugural party in an attempt to make the rejection of the pipeline a priority.

Governor Tim Walz has not taken a strong position on the pipeline. Walz promised to take responsibility on this decision while he is gathering information

“The decision will stop with me, but it will be informed by all of the stakeholders involved,” the governor said.
