Minneapolis, MN – With young people making up one of the largest groups of voters, Alpha News took a trip to The University of Minnesota to ask students their thoughts on the 2016 election.
People around the nation are questioning the state of Clinton’s health, and some are reacting sharply to that questioning. Senator Amy Klobuchar is saying questioning Clinton’s health is, “quite sexist” – but do students agree?
Abby, a sophomore says she has yet to see this be an issue before, saying, “I don’t think it’s intentionally sexist but I would say it is a double standard that most men aren’t required to fit.”
Students had mixed responses to Clinton saying that half of Trump supporters can be put in to a “basket of deplorables” and are racist and sexist.
Most of the students wanted to talk about a third party option for President. Katie, another sophomore at the U says, “Those of us that are kind of in the middle, there’s definitely a huge, huge push for that, and a lot of campaigning and stuff for the third party, more than I’ve ever seen before for sure.”
In 2016 millennials caught up with baby boomers as the largest voting bloc in the nation.
