Rep. Sarah Anderson Holds on in HD44A

Five-term incumbent Republican Representative Sarah Anderson won reelection to the Minnesota House, defeating Ginny Klevorn 54 percent to 46 percent.

Anderson will continue to represent House District 44A, the area around the Twin Cities’ suburb of Plymouth. She serves as the Chair of the State Government Finance Committee in the House. Anderson has lived in Plymouth for 18 years, and currently resides there with her husband and son. She has previously served as Plymouth Planning Commissioner, and a number of other leadership positions in the Plymouth community, before first being elected to the House in 2006.

Klevorn’s camp outspent Anderson by about $90,000 but ultimately was not able to overcome the incumbent. Klevorn has a BSc in Business Administration from St. Louis University, and is a small business owner and professional mediator. She has also served in child protections services for the state.
