Mohamed Noor & Justine Damond: Dying For Diversity

Minneapolis policeman and Somali diversity hire Mohamed Noor shot and killed Justine Damond last year, which instantly became an international story and about which Minnesotans had to turn to the foreign press in order to stay fully informed. Noor is currently on trial for this murder and in court proceedings last week we learned astounding facts about the depravity of those who insist on “diversity” regardless of the price. Diversity literally cost this woman her life. We’ll be called names if we notice and object.

The Star Tribune reported “Noor was flagged by two psychiatrists during the pre-hiring evaluation in early 2015 after he exhibited an inability to handle the stress of regular police work and unwillingness to deal with people, according to the records. The report went on to say that Noor was more likely than other police candidates to become impatient with others over minor infractions, have trouble getting along with others, to be more demanding and have a limited social support network. They showed he “reported disliking people and being around them.” And yet, since Noor exhibited no signs of a major mental illness, chemical dependence or personality disorder, he was deemed “psychiatrically fit to work as a cadet police officer for the Minneapolis Police Department,” the filing said.”

In other words, if you’re not obviously stark raving mad, and not white, you too can wear the blue. Words fail. The story details other, multiple defects of this politically motivated hire.

None are as outrageous as what happened a mere two months before this menace gunned down Damond in her pajamas. MPR reports that Noor “pulled over a driver on 24th Avenue South near Blaisdell Avenue for a suspected traffic violation. Citing squad car video, prosecutors say Noor approached the driver’s side of the car, and ‘the first thing he did was point his gun at the driver’s head.’” He should have been suspended immediately, if not fired outright, but wasn’t and MPR gives the game away in its own story: “Noor is Somali-American, and his joining of the Minneapolis Police Department was celebrated by Minnesota’s large East African community.”

There’s no cost too great to inflict on the public, indeed a people and their culture, in the name of diversity. The reaction to these preventable tragedies tells you just how invested the Regressive Left & Cultural Marxists are in its continuation. No word yet from former Mayor Betsy Hodges or former Chief of Police Janee Harteau on what we’ve learned.

“Diversity” is a cancer that has metastasized throughout America and the world. It’s effects are uniformly harmful because “diversity” can’t exist without affirmative action, a racism deemed acceptable by the elites. Affirmative action, in turn, mandates lower standards for those who would benefit from it because by definition those groups can’t meet current ones. It’s a race to the bottom and Justine Damonds are a small price to pay.

And pay we do for forced diversity. Eleven years ago, in the most comprehensive study of the fallout from this misbegotten, unasked for social experiment, researchers “found that virtually all measures of civic health are lower in more diverse settings. ‘The extent of the effect is shocking,” [said] Scott Page, a University of Michigan political scientist.’” The author of this landmark study was himself a bona fide liberal “who struggled with how to present his work.”

Well yes: liberal ideas are variations on utopias, the Greek words for “nowhere” first coined by Sir Thomas More in 1516.

Ilana Mercer, in the Orange County Register, had no such struggle, penning a small masterpiece entitled “Greater Diversity Equals More Misery.” In her piece, Mercer strips away the attempts of the liberal establishment to look away from what its own research found. “Harvard political scientist Robert Putnam has found that diversity is not a strength, but a weakness; the greater the diversity in a community, the greater the distrust.” She’s withering in her dismissal of the “recommendations” he offers to fix the realities he & his fellow elites have imposed upon the rest of us. “Instead, with all the sympathy of a social planner, he reaffirms the glories of forced integration and recommends dismantling old identities and constructing new, “shared” ones. Putnam pelts the many thousands of miserable individuals he interviewed with utilitarian platitudes: Cheap Tyson chicken and colorful cuisine will, in time, ameliorate their misery.”

The arguments for forced migration, open borders and immigration amounting to the destruction of the culture of host nations, as well as replacement of their voting populations, has remained surprisingly constant since then. Think of the cheap ethnic food you have, now that you’re afraid to leave your house after dark.

The diversity malignancy has spread to alarming areas. We recently learned that under failed President Obama air traffic controllers were being hired not on skill, aptitude or ability, but on race, previous forms of so-called oppression and other factors, the sum total of which were likely to put human lives at risk given the seriousness of the job. More Justine Damonds are a small price to pay and only bigots would think otherwise. Getting tired of it all yet?

The diversity industry is both lucrative and widespread in the wasteland now known as higher education. To take just one example, Ohio State was recently found to have 88 diversity-related staffers at a cost of $7.3M annually. This is a scam and you’re supposed to not notice.

In the United Kingdom, efforts are underway to find and put on the bench more magistrates with criminal records in order to boost, naturally, “diversity.”  This perverse ethos is hardly limited to that culturally destroyed country.

Closer to home we have an “Inclusion Chief,” the position and supporting infrastructure which was created by Gov. Mark Dayton. The current “chief” is James Collins Buroughs II and his job mostly consists of how to badger public and private employers into hiring fewer white people, regardless of whether the non-whites are qualified. His 2017 salary was $123,484, up from $92,720 in 2016, a one-third increase for which I could find no identifiable justification in public records. I don’t know if he received another one-third salary increase for 2018. (It’s possible the ’16 figure represents partial salary but the ’17 figure is a handsome number for make work) Follow him on Twitter at @Inclusion_Chief. Tucker Carlson outraged the Regressive Left a few days ago when he took dead aim at the diversity scam. In three minutes he asked questions that we are never supposed to and suffered an enormous backlash on social media that I found hilarious because the attacks had nothing to with the substance of his acid critique. It’s a tired cliche, I know, but you really do take flak only when you’re over the target.
