WASHINGTON, D.C. — Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) has announced that she will not run for Governor in 2018. Instead, she will be seeking a third term as a Minnesota Senator.

Klobuchar believes that her place is in the legislature, especially in what could be a tumultuous time for Democrats under a Republican run Congress.

Many Democrats and Republicans lined up to potentially throw their hats in the ring following Governor Dayton’s announcement that he would not seek re-election.

Whispers within political circles made it obvious that anyone would have a tough time beating Klobuchar in the primary and general.

St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman and State Representative Erin Murphy have both announced that they will run as Democrats for Governor.
