“Grow up and Get Over It” – Blame Game Ensues Post Legislative Session

0

The 2016 legislative session has come and gone and the blame game has begun. The pre-laid out main priorities of passing a bonding bill and a transportation bill never came to be.

On Monday Governor Dayton explained while he’s happy with getting funding for pre-k programs, he’s appalled by the lack of funding for higher education, sharing some harsh words for lawmakers not supporting the U of M, telling them to “grow up and get over it.”

Republican Speaker of the House Kurt Daudt explained that the divide between the two houses may not be as partisan as it seems, saying that several DFL House members supported the bill.

Several lawmakers are calling for a special session. Governor Dayton repeatedly said he is unsure yet whether or not he will call one -but with Minnesota’s roads and bridges crumbling, the pressure is on for lawmakers to act.
