While Some Protested, Others Rejoiced

Minneapolis, MN – Hope, anticipation, relief and joy filled the room as a small coalition of members of Women for Trump gathered to celebrate the new President’s inauguration.

“Most of our members are celebrating out in D.C.” said Jean Mancini, who flew in from Scottsdale, Arizona to host the event. “I had not met any of these women until today,” exclaimed Mancini, explaining that Women for Trump not only helped support the President during his campaign, but also brought like-minded women together into a strong coalition.

Chills could be felt in the room during the swearing-in ceremonies as Trump’s female Minnesotan supporters cheered, teared-up and looked on in awe. A hush fell over the room as President Trump began to address the Nation for the first time.

After the inaugural address they offered each other support as they discussed the challenges they faced during the 2016 election, including being “cut off” by family members and coworkers.

“There are a lot of volunteer hours in this room,” said Trump supporter Kathy Haslerud. Haslerud says during the 2016 Presidential Election that Women for Trump hosted several events for the new President, including giant rallies on busy bridges to draw attention and support for the campaign.

Members say Women for Trump has 2500 involved activists throughout the Nation (with many more supporters online), and will be continuing their work post-election. “This isn’t just about the national level,” says Trump supporter Shirley Schaff, “we hope to get like-minded individuals to run and affect policy on the local level as well.”
